Yellowstone earthquake causes Twitter users to predict apocalypse
A 5.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Yellowstone National Park caused a social media buzz on Thursday, July 6, with some Twitter users declaring an apocalypse was coming.
The quake, which struck in western Montana at 11:30 p.m. local time, was followed by a series smaller quakes of magnitudes 4.9, 4.5, 3.9 and 4.4, according to the “USGS“https://www.usgs.gov/.
Many reported feeling a significant shaking that was strong enough to wake them up and rattle household items.
